BIG BROWN TRUCK PULL

big_brown_truck_pull

The Big Brown Truck Pull will return to the streets of Lower Broadway in Historic Downtown Paducah on Saturday, Aug. 1. Once again, teams of 15 from companies and organizations throughout the area will flex their muscles for Special Olympics, competing to see who can pull a loaded UPS 18-wheeler 12 feet in the shortest time.

The Big Brown Truck Pull is a great way for companies or organizations to do some fun team building and show their community support, but any group can participate — churches, families, friends or neighbors. Teams raise a minimum of $1,000 per team (and can raise more to receive greater fundraising rewards) and then come out on Aug. 1 to take the rope and pull that truck.

Champions will be crowned in men’s, women’s and co-ed divisions. There is even a chance for young groups (of 10 team members) to pull a UPS delivery truck to win the youth division. In addition to the divisional trophies, there are awards for the top individual fundraiser, top fundraising team and top fundraising Special Olympics athlete and for the team with the best team cheer and with the best team T-shirt or costume.

The Big Brown Truck Pull drew another big crowd to Historic Downtown Paducah in 2014.

Activities will get underway with the Opening Ceremonies at 6 pm and teams will start pulling at 6:30. Even if you aren’t pulling it is a great evening to come out and enjoy the action.

On-Line Registration will be open soon.

The Big Brown Truck Pull is sponsored by Electric 96-9, UPS, Pepsi MidAmerica, Kroger, C-Plant Federal Credit Union, Paducah Parks and Recreation, The Whaler’s Catch, Wilson Office Supply and the Kentucky Law Enforcement for Special Olympics.
